Space and portability a problem? For airline travel, compact storage, hiding in your car trunk or carrying it up four flights of stairs to your apartment, the folder will “bend over backwards” for you. It has all the features of the welded Linear LWB but folds into an airline acceptable package with quick release levers and two Allen wrenches. Folding a Linear to put it in your car trunk takes a minute or two and leaves the chain dangling (Tip on not getting greasy: use a clean chain lube.) Folding it to fit in an airline travel case and padding it to avoid scratches takes longer. When folded the longest piece is the 39" to 48" long frame.

The folders rear joint may flex a bit, especially for larger, stronger riders. The Iowa built folders sometimes "creaked." Some riders have had a persistent problem with this on the folding Linears made in Iowa. We have not seen this with NY built folders with the reinforcing V-Brake mount.

At $1899 the folder is $300 more than the welded LWB, less stiff and over a pound heavier. It is also easier to pack, store and transport, for some riders this tradeoff makes a lot of sense.

If folding is not as issue for you, you can save $300 with a $1599 welded Linear. They are lighter, stiffer, quieter and stronger.

	And if airline travel is a part of your touring plans this reusable travel case will hold our folder, up to size large, 45”. Even the wheels and seat fit in the case with the frame.

If your Linear is a 48” extra large you will need a longer, thinner case and will have to pack your seat separately.
